Whale beaching caused also by powerful new military sonars. Powerful sonar system known as Surveillance Towed Array System Low Frequency Active (SURTASS LFA) may soon be deployed in up to 80% of the world's oceans. Intensity levels of LFA Sonar are far greater than those known to harm cetaceans (whales and dolphins) series of mass strandings of whales and dolphins that coincided with documented naval exercises.
